Character Creation Steps

1- Decide on a Concept:
~ Who are you? What did you do with your life?
~ Age: Pick any age you wish to be from, but work out old characters with the staff.
~ What religion is your character, or what religion does he/she associate with.
~ Use the Character Background on the forums to help you build your concept.
~ Note we are using all Dark Ages books, but we are not allowing the use of any Modern Night book, this includes clan books. Remember that everything is subject to staff approval.

2 - Choose a Clan:
~ Some clans/bloodlines do not exist yet. Check with staff if you are hoping to make something weird or not posted.
~ Note that the Lhiannan and Noiad are strictly prohibited from this game.
~ The weirder you get with your clan the fewer rights you will have in vampire society. We will be enforcing clan enemies and allies.

3 - Choose your Faction:
~ Three dominate factions make up Constantinople. Byzantine Cainites are members of the Greek Triumvirate (ruling body of Constantinople). The Latin Cainites are the wealthy merchants and crusaders from Europe, who have submitted to the Cainite Heresy. Ashirra are the Muslim Cainites from Arabia. Finally this leaves the unaligned, those who are Cainites newly arrived and have not yet established their allegiance with any major faction. Read the different Factions below to learn more about the starting perks for being in that faction. Unaligned Cainites get no starting perks, but have the freedom of choosing which faction they would prefer after meeting with the factions during game play.

Ashirra (Crescent Square)

4 - Choose an Archetype for your Nature and Demeanor:
~ Pick any Nature and Demeanor from any White Wolf book. Please work with Staff for strange Natures and Demeanor's.

5 - Prioritize and assign Attribute Traits:
~ We are using a Table Top format for Attributes. Click on the link above.
~ Start with 1 in each then add 7/5/3. We are not giving points for Neg traits.

6 - Assign Abilities:
~ 15 Abilities, most clans get one or two abilities extra (so check your clan advantage). You may pick Abilities that are not in Faith and Fire. They are all subject to ST approval.

7 - Draw a Generation:
~ Contact staff to draw a card and find out your Generation.
~ There will be no trading of these cards with other players.
~ No need to draw a card if you are a childe of another player.
~ You may have up to 3 player childer at character creation.
~ Your blood pool will be based on your Generation.

8 - Assign Backgrounds:
~ 5 Background points at character creation.
~ Generation is a card draw and therefore does not count as a background on here.
~ You may choice backgrounds that are not in Faith and Fire as long as they are from some kind of WW DA book. All backgrounds are subject to approval.

9 - Assign Influences:
~ 5 Influence points at character creation.
~ This is restricted to a rule of 3 for character creation.

10 - Assign Disciplines:
~ Start with 4 discipline points which must be placed in "In Clan" disciplines.

11 - Chose a Road:
~ You may choose any road which fits your concept from the attached list.
~ Roads will be based on a 1-10 scale (Table Top style)
~ Conscience/Conviction + Self-Control/Instinct = Starting Road Rating
~ Remember to really read your Road; you will be expected to act out these aspects.

~ Roads can not exceed 7 at character creation, unless you are a Child of Osiris.

11 - Assign Virtue Traits:
~ Each character gets a free dot of Conscience, Self-Control and Courage. You also get 7 more dots to divide between the three. Any character that starts on a Road which uses Conviction or Instinct loses the free point for Conscience or Self-Control.
~ Your starting Courage rating is also your starting Willpower score. Willpower is 1 through 10 as it is in Table Top.

12 - Spend Freebie Points:
~ Start with 10 Freebie Points. Check the link above for point values.
~ Out of clan disciplines can go no higher than 3 at character creation.
~ We are only allowing Malkavians to take derangements at character creation.
~ Now is your chance to choose Merits & Flaws and add points elsewhere.
~ Rule of 5 applies to all categories not already bound by a trait max.
